I have just returned from a three day session of ‘Grand Prix Racing’ at the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving.

Needless to say, it was great fun.  I raced C5 Corvettes around for two days (we didn’t get any ‘open track’ time the first day).  I even went so far as to order a one hour video (profanity cam) of myself driving the last day.  It’s a great product they offer, and costs about $100USD.  It’s made using a small vid cam that mounts to the rollbar just behind you in the cockpit.

Having been in a full race vehicle of that class leads me to believe that few drivers are tall.  I’m 6′ 3″, and BARELY fit when I was wearing the helmet.

The price of a subscription to php|Architect magazine has dropped.

If you have previously passed on a subscription because of the price you may want to reconsider in light of the approximate $20 USD price cut (that’s what did it for me).

I recently attempted a reinstall of Gentoo, after a response to a forum post shed some additional light on the ATI/Xorg issue.  Thanks Jengu (you know who you are).

I now have a working desktop in Gentoo, and still consider it my first Linux install.  While I have much work to do learning how to build and maintain my new ground-up Linux system, I must say that I look forward to it.

Time will tell.
